Several of us from the Mosaic/Fellowship Worship Team are heading to Zimbabwe, Africa Sept 28th-Oct 9th! We have been asked to partner with Change a Life Foundation and a well known minister in Africa to provide the worship music at several events and crusades throughout our time there. Checkout a few details below and join us on our journey through prayer.
The Big Picture:
We are partnering with Change a Life Foundation’s Operation Orphan Care project and a well-known minister in Africa, Rev. Paul Suangweme. Operation Orphan Care’s goal is to create sustainability and i
nitiate actual changes within the lives of the impoverished children of Zimbabwe. They not only build homes and churches for these families, they also help to implement Farming Villages, humanitarian aid, micro-enterprises
, and agriculture and water supplies. Evangelist Paul Saungweme, who himself first heard the gospel at a crusade as an 18-year-old in route to commit suicide, is now a well-respected minister who has been preaching at crusades throughout Africa ever since.
Why a Worship Band:
Music is an international language and while in Zimbabwe, we will have the opportunity to communicate the gospel through music in a variety of settings. We will be playing at nightly events throughout the week in different villages leading up to a two-day crusade where thousands will hear the gospel – many for the first time. By partnering with Rev. Saungweme to provide worship for each crusade, the crowds will often double in size.
Partnering with Change A Life Foundation and their national partners, we plan to spend the first part of our ten days in Zimbabwe visiting Operation Orphan Rescue Villages, helping to break ground on a new village, performing nightly mini-concerts, and showing The Jesus Film to attract interest in each of the villages we visit. Our trip will culminate with a two-day crusade in the city of Rusape with Rev. Saungweme. Finally, if finances allow and as a way of debriefing, we are hoping to get to visit one of the seven natural wonders of the world, Victoria Falls, before flying back home.
Please Pray for us as we seek to share God’s Kingdom through our travels and contact with the people of Zimbabwe and the Orphan villages.
